It all started In hong kong…
After arriving in Hong Kong from Chicago and scoping out the scene Fire Aux realized there wasn’t really a party or event that interested him in terms of vibes as well as music. Rather than complaining about it he took matters into his own hands and created one of the most inclusive and exciting party series that the city had seen in a long time.
It seemed most events there were catered to the expat community in Hong Kong that never really spoke to him or to the majority of the people he interacted with in Hong Kong. Considering that, he wanted to host an event that not only celebrated hip hop and global dance music from all over the world like reggaeton, dancehall, afrobeats, baile funk and more, but the goal was also to create a safe space for like-minded individuals to enjoy themselves in this type of environment. After the first two events it became a notable highlight in Hong Kong nightlife. The farewell Auxidize party before he moved back to Chicago was a day party that was scheduled to go until 11pm. It was on a secluded beach that was about an hour and a half trip from the actual city (including a ferry ride), and the party got shut down by city officials at around 5pm for being over capacity at well over 500 attendees. After moving back to Chicago, his intention was to continue that momentum, to keep people dancing and to keep building a similar community around this event. While there have been quite a few Auxidize parties at different venues around Chicago it has actually found a consistent home with a quarterly party at Rebeccca’s Bar in New York City as well.
